On a Monday, the bustling scene at 770 Eastern Parkway took an unexpected turn when a cement truck rolled in to address the recent discovery of tunnels beneath the building. The purpose of this peculiar revelation was to fortify and secure the structures above the newfound passageways. However, the routine construction activities took a dramatic turn when a group of protesters interrupted the proceedings.
Amidst the cement-filling operation, a disturbance prompted a swift response from the NYPD, who were promptly called to the scene. The disruptors, targeted the cement truck, causing damage to its components. The situation escalated as the disruptors, shifted their focus to the interior of the building.
In an unexpected twist, the protesters entered the premises and forcefully broke through a wall in the main synagogue, revealing the entrance to the tunnels below. Seemingly in protest against the ongoing construction or for undisclosed reasons, the students definitely occupied the tunnel entrance, refusing to vacate the premises.
As the standoff persisted, attempts at negotiation were made in an effort to peacefully resolve the situation. However, the students remained steadfast in their protest. After several hours of tense discussions, around 10 students were eventually removed from their defiant position within the tunnel entrance and subsequently arrested by The NYPD.
